So my 1997 F350 Crew Cab with a Zf5 and US gears Overdrive, seems to have what I would call loose, noisy drivetrain. The truck is making pretty much stock power, nothing major done to it. Has a new (less than 10k) Single mass South bend clutch. There are 2 things that don't seem normal to me, maybe someone here can help. #1 when shifting, getting on it a little and getting through the gears when I am letting my foot off the clutch I can hear a bang (more clangy) but definitely a clangy/bang. #2 I have a driveway with a small incline, and a rounded curb, when I back in if I do it slow and the front wheels hang up a little in the curb requiring more torque to get up and over, it seems like the driveline, T/C, Overdrive, etc.. just winds up, and than once over the hump, I press the clutch in to keep from backing through the garage, it just lets loose and bangs and clangs.. I have had the neighbor drive and try and replicate this and I have gotten on the ground to watch, and the banging is literally the drivetrain banging back and forth (fore and aft). We did it again with the hood up thinking maybe motor mount, and the motor is solid as a rock doesn't move at all. Could it be a tranny mount? is there an easy way to test them? Any other thoughts? Thanks in advance, I need to figure this out, I don't like it when things aren't right, and it is driving me NUTS!!!
