Wix sells their version of the Stanadyne Fuel Manager series filters/bases also. Amazon has a variety listed as Wix Fuel Manager as filter/base packages for about $50 in the FM-100 size. You do have to google the filter number since there is no description of filtration size. The Wix FM series are interchangeable with the Stanadyne FM-100. The Wix does have a slightly lower pressure rating than the Stanadyne bases though. The fuel/water separator functions are in the filters themselves, not the bases. Instead of using a y-fuel block that takes AN-hose, use one that has standard NPT sized holes, use pushlock diesel rated hose and fittings, its cheaper than using AN braided stuff and probably just as good for the average guy. (unless you're going racing where they may require the braided line for safety reasons). There are fuel pump brackets available, but the stock factory brackets probably are just as good from the auto wreckers. The SD fuel pumps are probably the most reliable ones out there, there are higher capacity ones out there though like the Bosch -044 (around $230) and very reliable also. Electrically, just pick up a wire hot on start and run positions of the ignition switch. This will start the pump on startup. You can just use a fuse box tap ,tap a fuse in the fuse box and feed a 30A rated auto relay wired in series with the oil pressure switch/inertia switch that will control the fuel pump. Use 18 wire to the relay fused with a 5A fuse. The relay is just the black 1" cube with a mounting tab sold by auto parts stores everywhere and even RadioShack. Run a separate fused power wire throught the relay for pump power off of the battery. Use a 20A fuse if you use #12 wire or a 30A fuse if you use #10 sized wire. The Stanadyne FM series stuff is a serious industrial quality filter system, Bean's used them in their original electric fuel system. Bean's employed C-channel stock that just fit inside of the frame rail and mounted the two filters and fuel pump on it, a very compact means of mounting them and tucks the parts up out of the way. The Stanadyne FM series filters also come in three different lengths so clearance can also be adusted by your selection of filter lengths. The longest filter element reaches about 2" lower than the frame. Never had a problem with my Bean's setup.
