While I was removing the old tube the threads on the fitting in the exhaust manifold were completely stripped off. I ordered a new fitting for the manifold but my concern is when I remove that I am afraid the threads will be ruined there as well becasue that cast metal seems to be "soft". I have been hitting it with penetrant for the last few days and will do it once more tonight before tackling it tomorrow.
