Observations: On my '97 red sig truck (running PCM ALF4 which is '96 and older TW tunes) iirc the EBPV would come on and idle would increase to 700 rpm when cold, would stay on when driving until (guessing 1200-1400 rpm). I have (in the last 6 months) capped off the EBP tube and run the sensor with MAP signal line. Have noticed no difference, mind you EBPV and pedestal have been gutted for a couple years and it's now a ZF. White/Silver truck basically stock with 40,000 original miles is a late 95 build date truck (iirc sept of '95 so it's listed as 96 have to check serial to confirm engine series). When fired up cold it idles normally (almost seems a tad low) and the EBPV doesn't come on until you put your foot on the throttle and it stays on (even at highway speeds), will shut off when either truck is warm or you run up the RPMs to 3/4 throttle (meaning in a boost situation). Most annoying indeed, truck runs cold even with rad covered. Not made time to mess a lot with it yet or even discover what PCM it is, it's an auto. As this truck is stock I'll unplug the EBP sensor and see if the tranny shift strategy changes, when I get some time. Seems to be significant variability with these series of engines as to EBP sensor function and what it is supposed to do and/or affects on auto tranny shift perimeters. jrc
