okay so I just deleted my dpf and cat, and set it up with a 5" straight pipe from the down pipe back.. running the mini maxx on the mild tune, using street. I want to do the EGR delete but I'm lost on what to do.. I want to save money by installing it myself.. as I am pretty handy.. but I feel as if I couldn't do this. I want to get the full erg delete by sinister.. I've heard about getting a waste gate.. do i really need one? and how much are they? Ive also got it set on the 3 out of the 5 on the smoke. I've only got around $500 right now.. I thought about getting block off plates but realized I better just save my money..

My truck has 112k miles on it, do I really need to delete the EGR? I'm trying to get my motor to be a lot more reliable... I haven't had any problems with it since I got it (3k miles ago). Only put around 400miles since the delete.. If you can help lead me in the right direction I would very much appreciate it as I've heard both answers.

You can install it if you are mechanically inclined. Not to hard at all. I would do a full delete.

Took me about 4-5 hrs with a trip to sears to get some gear wrenches and swivel sockets.

It depends what you goals are with the truck. if your not going to get wild with upgrades I wouldn't get to worried about a waste gate.

Mike is pleasant to do business with. I have a custom diesel kit and they are made in the US too.

Less back pressure in most cases=horsepower. Like I said, results have varied with different tuning/set up's. We have seen as much as 8-15 hp at the rear tires with a 15-20 psi drop in back pressure.

does gating not decrease the drive on the exhaust side of the turbo, or am I missing something?

yes it does. overspeeding the turbos because of excessive back pressure doesnt necessarily gain power.

I have another question, do I really need a EGR delete right now? I don't run my truck hard. But I do like to lay into it sometimes.. And I plan on doing head studs this summer... Opinions please?
