He checked coolant levels and it was a little low. He topped it off. So today we got our small trailer on there with our two mowers and driving down the highway with the mini maxx on no power and not on any grade the temp gauge was fine. Then all of a sudden it jumped from 197 to over 210 the fan kicked on and the mini max said it went into defuel mode because of hot coolant. So we hurried up and pulled over and shut it down before it got any hotter. It had puked out the degas. Kinda think it boiled out the lid. But started the truck back up within two min and the temp was right back to normal. Turned around and drove it back home. It never over heated again all the way home. Got it home and looked again and it DIDNT puke anymore. So i went and got two new thermostats and gasket and changed them. Topped her off with coolant/water. Drove it around with no trailer and the mini maxx on no power and it will be fine one min like normal then the next second its over heating with no changes in pedal pos or speed or anything. Almost like a sticking thermostat. But we even took out the thermostats. But now when you watch the coolant temp guage its constantly moving from 190 to 210 and sometimes as high as 220. But it dosent puke any at all. Also the truck dosent have any heat also. Do you think its got air stuck in it somewhere? What do you guys think i should try next. Whats the chances it burnt up the brand new ford oem water pump? Its just weird how the truck was fine for a couple hundred miles then all of a sudden it acts up. You would think if it was air it woulda did it right from the begining. This is our work truck so i need to get it back on the road asap. Thanks for any replys. [/QUOTE]
