Stupid non reusable thermostat housing. Yea, I tried to reuse it. Idled for 15 minutes, went for a ride, and soon as I got on it it sprayed coolant all over the place. Is that piece available separately? I bought a water pump for the van once, and it came with it, but was not needed with the van. Just tossed it a few weeks ago.....

Napa sells a replacement housing, or you can get the DieselSite one.

Those motor are a tight squeeze, and you do have to drop them in on a diagonal and rotate in place... but I have done a few with the 5 speed in place.

I actually have the dieselsite one. But the one I need is the long one and was gonna save the billet one for the van. I guess I could put the billet one on and either extend the hose or get another one. Happen to have a part number for the napa one? I couldn't find it on their site.

Thanks Dave.

As soon as I got this truck home, I crawled up in the engine bay and snapped the nipple off the radiator that goes to the overflow. I JB welded it back on. Put the radiator in yesterday and snapped it off again putting the fan on. JB welded it back on. Removing the water outlet this morning, I managed to snap it off again! LOL After making a mental note to be careful.

THis time I built it up with jb weld and am gonna drill and tap it for an npt hose fitting.

Yep, pretty good. But it can wait til next weekend. I resealed it when it was still in the truck. Had a hard time getting the nut started and the sealant bob includes with the kit was setting up fast. I don't think the oring is seated correctly.

You don't need one, they never last.

If it's leaking at the pan connection, hold the flange outward by hooking a bungie cord around the dipstick tube, then spin the nut off, fillet the joint between flange and pan with international gray after cleaning it thoroughly with brake clean of course, then spin the nut back down into the gray. Sealed..... forever....

If it leaks between tube and flange, take the gay ass o-ring off the tube, smear international gray around the tube end, shove it back in place and again... sealed.... forever...

I don't even mess with the stupid little o-rings anymore. Not once have I taken the pan off my engine that the bs nut on the inside wasn't all splayed out with the o-ring fubared.
