I've got one on my 6.4 and no codes. The cost is more than a remote start but repeated cold starts are bad for engines. I use it year round as I have a large piston to wall clearance and the heater shrinks that and reduces wear and it drastically reduces idle time which is also terrible for engines. It doesn't draw much power from the batteries so with 2 batteries you won't have an issue. I don't drive my truck much and I only have 1 battery so I use a battery tender to maintain it when I am not driving it for extended periods of time. If your looking for connection points to pull coolant from and return to I used the block heater port for the suction side and return to the hose from the coolant tank. This allowes the coolant to fully circulate.
