Mine had the same tone at idle, mine was a blown bellow in the EGR pipe, but back pressure would change for me. I bet it is the tube clogged. You can clean it out with brake clean and compressed air or just order a new one. Easy to change too. 5/8" end wrench on each end and a 10mm for the little nut at the valve cover. [/QUOTE]
