Ive got a e99 stock truck. I just bought a riffraff FRx Fuel Rail Crossove. before install I wanted to see what my stock pressures were.
at idle 67psi
driving down the highway at 70mph 60psi
3/4 throttle 30psi
wot 15psi
just seems like i need more fuel pressure but just want to make sure what else i can do or need to do.
i notice my exhaust temps high 900ish driving 70mph and at wot it can get up to 1400 quick. it just seems to run hotter than it should.
also i drive my truck everyday with 100% filter used oil. but i believe it would be this way with or without #2 diesel.
thanks for looking

running Lott's tunes.
Not sure on fuel pressures on #2.
Got in it this mornig and.
85psi @ idle.
70psi @ 70mph.
45mph to 55mph @ 30psi.
WOT with a 10psi boost launch to 50mph was @ 20-30psi.
was looking at new pumps last night AD & FASS or possible dual pumps. Is there a thread on doing dual pumps. If I do one should i sump it and are the pump kits full replacements. do they keep the stock pump in-line.
What are good fuel pressures for idle, highway speed, WOT & exhaust temps

Have you done the in tank mods? You either need to clear the restriction or replace the pump. Stock injectors shouldn't drop below 50 or 60 psi at WOT with your set up.

I have clays RR on and I run 65psi at idle and while cruising and at wot it will stay around 58psi... your stock fuel pump is done for... drop in a walbro 392pump and roll on!! That's what I have..

The front fitting comes out of the super duty stock pump and installs in the walbro, on the pumps we carry it has the quick connect fitting ready to go on the draw side.

this is what I found on the Carter 74221 :

  • Pressure and flow are matched to manufacturer and model specifications
  • Premium replacement fuel pump brings your fuel system back to full capacity
  • OE inlet and outlet positions are maintained to ensure installation procedures match stock as closely as possible
  • Available in 6, 12 and 24 volt versions
  • Appropriate for RV, marine, agricultural, industrial and performance applications
  • Carter Premium Replacement Electric Fuel Pumps come with a minimum of one year of warranty coverage
  • Manufactured in the USA
Product Description

Carter Premium Replacement Fuel Pumps come in a variety of quality designs—depending on your application.
The rotary vane design is the longest running production style and pumps 4 to 18 psi at a flow rate of up to 100 gallons per hour via a heavy duty wet motor. The Carotor design is Carter’s most versatile electric fuel pump and fits both carburated and fuel injected applications. Carter’s solenoid design is their most widely used fuel pump and it works in 6,12 and 24 volt systems. By working on short pulses of electricity, this pump is extremely efficient and durable. All three designs work in both automotive and marine applications.
Carter Premium Replacement Fuel Pumps are designed to bolt in exactly like the original did. Each electric pump is matched for exact flow and pressure specifications according to their application requirements. Inlet and outlet holes and wire harness pickups (on applicable models) are kept as close to factory specs as possible. This makes for simple reconnection of your new Carter fuel pump to the existing fuel system and a pain-free installation.

obviously, at less GPH, it will pump more pressure....?

I ran a Carter pump on my truck for 8 weeks. Worked great until I noticed a big streak of wet stuff in my mirror as I was leaving a parking lot and I was suddenly aware of the strong odor of diesel fuel. (they were kind enough to give me a free replacement under warranty, but I've been running the Airtex pump since last July since that's what the closest store to my failure had in stock. The carter is behind the back seat just in case)
