This is an excellent question. I can speak from first hand experience. When I was hot shotting I got bad fuel at 46k. Did my best to limit the damage but after that batch of fuel I had a slight surge....put another 16k miles all hooked to a trailer (7400 to 24k lbs) so the truck didn't live an easy life. Anyways, the surge slowly got worse over the next 16k miles until it almost became undriveable hooked to a trailer. So decided to replace the HPFP and upgrade the LP system. I got 3 bad remans in a row. While trying to figure out the problem, everything in the system was checked and rechecked including having Swamps flow test the injectors. Turns out the only thing that was bad was the HPFP remans. IMO keep your factory HPFP, I doubt 1 time of starving hurt it too much (if any). I don't trust the remans....I hate having one in my truck and always wondering if it is gonna let go. I have same thoughts as you....running Morgan's duals for reliability (by keeping the duty cycle down) more than anything although a few extra HP would be nice. In terms of nozzles....I did go ahead and do 15% nozzles while I was in there. That was one of my most favorite upgrades!!!! The improvement in spool up is incredible. For how I use my truck, spool up is everything (not to mention I have a gear jammer). I may be sacrificing a little top end (I can only maintain 21500 RP on 2.3 PW tune) but I don't mind cause my truck isn't a competition truck...it is a DD and needs to be able to tow. With GH tunes my truck is essentially smoke free. I am gonna cut the PW back to 2.1 or so and hope to dyno them both in about month just to see what it will do differently.
