Hey guys, ever since I put on my flatbed I have had all kind if problems with my lights. I ran 11 new chicken lights on the bed, and hooked up my brake lights and stuff. I'm not an expert on lights but I hooked them how that were hooked before. Well I thought my switch inside the truck was bad because if you pulled the switch all the way out only the headlights would work, but no running lights, you had to push it in just a little for all of them to work. Well I looked under the hood in the fuse box and the big fuse for the lights would click. Well I looked inside the truck in the fuse panel and the fuse was blown and I fixed it and they worked like normal again. Well today they aren't working right again. The front lights will come on but none of my rear lights on the bed will work. The fuse was blown again. So I replaced it and turned them on and it blew too. I may have the lights hooked wrong but I'm not sure why its blowing that fuse. Any ideas?

Sounds like you either have a short, or are pulling too much for the fuse to handle. My guess is you have a short though. If the flatbed is prewired, its really easy to pinch a wire when installing it and cause a short.

The flatbed was not pre wired. It was just a hunk of steel. Lol. But I'm probably gonna let my buddy look at my wiring and see if its wrong. I'm not good with wiring so I just hooked all the lights as is. When I hooked my tail lights my reverse lights never worked so I probably made the mistake. Just puzzled me why it kept blowing the fuses.
