lately the truck has not been starting in the morning , in about 30-40 degree weather , or even if its been sitting all night and try it in mid day , it just keeps cranking and cranking with the usually white smoke , have to hit it with a hair of starter spray to get it going but ounce its going it runs like a champ , already changed the glow plug relay but cant think if what else , sometimes it fires right up , others not so much , it cranks over faster then over just does not fire

Check valve cover gaskets and plugs before replacing gp's. The plugs burn up but usually its from bad glowplugs.

Grab a meter and check the resistance on the glowplugs through the valve cover harnesses. You probably have a few dead ones.

Edit: Unplug the engine harness outside the valve cover and check the resistance on the front two and the rear two pins on each side. Negative lead on the negative battery post and touch the pins on the valve cover gasket with the red lead

^^^^this..... your looking for .8-1.2 of resistance for a good plug. Below .8 is weak and 0 is shot. And only use motorcraft glowplugs. Other brands electrodes can swell and not come out or brake off

To test them on a OBS truck the glow plugs are the outside pins on the connectors, two connectors per valve cover gasket.
