When you look at it, see if you can pull the fuel filter off of it. If its black then it might just be the injecter o-rings. Also more info on the smoke, what color? White, light blue, gray, and black can all meet different things. Whether it smokes on cold start and gets lighter, is it all the time, just when lugging etc. all will help determine what it is. Smell the coolant for a diesel smell, make sure there's no oil in it, and no coolant in the oil. What's the mileage on it? Just a few things to look at to help diagnose, hope it helps.
