Got me a parts motor

Complete 04 long block only missing the ficm

taking it over to PSE soon so i can get to work on it. would like to see about having the heads on the parts motor rebuilt and put on my early 04(03) motor when doing studs. talking with dorian he said i can use my 03 oil rails and valve covers on the 04 heads but can i put the 04 oil rails on the 03 heads i take off my motor?

Only thing holding us back is on yours, you have to screw in stand pipes to the branch tube the later wave rails screw on to the rail. I'll show you when you bring it over here.

Sounds good. Would I be better off seeing if this one is in decent shape and then doing a full build on it haha.

O that's the plan for sure. I figure worst case I can Sell stuff off it and maybe help injectors get put in with the studs and pmax.

A lady never asks and a gentleman never tells haha. Paid 400 for it loaded up. Had to drive about 45 minutes each way to get it. Supposedly blew a hg. Unknown mileage

if IF... i decided to build up the 04 motor... what are you thinking? wouldnt really want to cut any corners if i go this route?

this option has been bugging me ALL day.

just take the whole motor apart, and go from there. see whats good and what it needs.

Took off the downpipe y pipe, turbo, and pedestal off. Confirmed failed egr cooler. Has coolant in the manifolds

Much easier to work on it outside the truck.

drained the oil today and good bit of coolant was in there. fuel filter was clean though.

have friday off and planning to spend most of the day tearing it all apart
