I will be installing one of these in my truck in the next few weekends

UBG-16

I know it's a little overkill but the price was right.

I will be able to monitor.....and questions are in red

1: outside air temp___________not sure the best place to locate this probe?

2: coolant temp____________________sending unit located in coolant filter housing

3: lube oil presure__________________ where do I put this sensor? thread and pitch of the hole?

4: EGT both banks__________________1 probe in each manifold

5: fuel pressure____________________sending unit post filter on the bowl

6: HPOP pressure___________________run this off a t or y at the ICP sensor?

7: EOT____________sending unit in the top of the HPOP?

8: Transfer case temp___________Sending unit in the fluid drain hole?

9: front diff temp_____________Drill and tap?

10: rear diff temp_________Drill and tap?

11: transmission temp_________going to keep the Autometer in the port and add a sending unit to pan

12: Batt voltage____________at the batt

I will keep my pillar mount with EGT, boost and tranny temp, this will a supplemental/ troubleshooting aid as well as an overall engine condition monitor.

Any help with the above questions is appreciated...comments as well.

For 9 and 10, instead of drilling and tapping, would it not be better to weld a bung on the cover. Just make sure it is somewhere that has clearance.

:whs:

I don't like the idea of drilling and tapping a diff cover

I would rather drill and tap the axle housing for the temp probes. It would look a lot cleaner if there wasn't a wire and probe sticking off the diff cover, and then you wouldn't have to worry when changing oil.

Guys drill and tap the diff when installing a selectable locker all the time.

My plan for the diff was drill and tap the housing I figured along the same line as KPS...it is done regularly with air lockers.

I have everything here, I am going to install the instrument where the the 4X4 selector would be if I had ESOF.

This all started because I wanted and OAT display.....
