Clean as much as you can, I mean really clean it while on the truck so the area is really clean, you will be glad you did when you try to put it back on and keep junk out of the new clean cooler. Yea, taking it off is a mess but at least it is clean oil and coolant and can just be wiped up. Get it done before it gets really cold, the colder it is the more it leaks.
