I have had at least 2 pcms over the years that have had a internal problem and they would default to -40. Switched them to at least 5 different trucks testing. The volt drop is noteworthy, but also will not cause his issue unless it's under 50* where the truck is at. The IAT sensor has almost nothing to do with starting.
