Get s good transmission jack and a couple feet of extension with a swivel. Ease transmission and engine back together. It should all drop into place. Don't pull them together with bolts or you could do serious damage. Chock wheels good. Here is a rough outline. Sorry if I'm missing something, it has been awhile. I know there are some shields and this and that's I missed. Pull drive shafts out of way, unhook electrical, unbolt cross member and use jack to lift t case/tranny/engine to aid in removal of cross member. Yank out t case. Was roomy under the truck after you started tossing parts in bed I worked flywheel in gear teeth to unbolt the TC. Unhooked fluid cooler lines and electrical. Made notes and scores of how shift cable attached. Unbolted from engine and slid back. Here is a big NO. Do not rig it on the jack like I did. DUMB! Once the wood got drenched in fluid they would shoot out like soap if you looked at it wrong. The pan really sucks and the jack was a bare flat plate. It ended up doing a rollover trick off the jack but in slow motion and luckily didn't hurt anything. What more can I saw I f*cked up. Anyway notice towels plastic and tape. Keep exposed internals covered and clean! Tape off lines, vents, dipstick tube also If you stay organized staging your parts and hardware this really is a breeze. Everything will be drenched in ATF. Toss a few quarts in new TC if you get one. Putting back together is just reverse order. Once done I pulled transmission pan and changed filter.
