No hard at all but honestly I would just spend the $50 and upgrade to the Melling LPOP from Advanced Auto and that way you have the new seal and pump. Its also possible you are having oil leak around the balancer key way. Be sure to put some grey rtv around key and race way to ensure a good seal.
