Also the med. duty cat engines are junk as far as I know, I would do what others said and stick with a cummins or an engine larger than what goes into the pickups. Done some towing with a Freightliner that had an 8.3 cummins under the hood, and that was a great all around truck. Air ride wouldn't be a bad thing to look for either.
