Im posting this because i feel like a lot of you (like me) either went the easy route and mounted in the dp or never mounted at all.

I finaley tapped mine into the drivers exhaust manifold saturday. I set aside about 2-3 hours in my mind. LOL

It took about 15 minutes. I spent more time getting out and putting away the tap set, drill, bits, extention cord and lube spray.

It is harder to weld a bung on the dp than tapping the cast iron mani. Just use a good sharp bit and lotsa spray. Piece of cake!

I didn't worry about chips in the manifold. Anything in there will pass right through the turbo and into the exhaust without damaging anything. If you are worried about it, pull the up pipe off and fire it off over for a couple seconds.

Agreed. The easiest place to drill is nearly parallel with the ground, 99% of the chips you create fall to the ground. The few that don't will easily pass the turbine wheel without harming anything.

That's the way i did it. 1 thing i forgot to mention. DO NOT USE COMPRESSED AIR IN THE HOLE!!!!!! some exh valves are sure to be open. That would ruin your day.

I just drill, tap, and screw in the probe. Like Andy said, the little bit of shavings wont hurt anything and will just blow out the exhaust pipe.

Drill, Tap, Install...

Unless you live somewhere that they have turned off gravity to save money... If thats the case you could just flip the truck over and do it that way, just make sure to tie it down...

Would suck to get the EGT probe installed and watch your truck float away.
