My Build Thread

As some of you may know, Ive been working with Doug at Direct Injection since about September on some different stuff. About a month or so ago, I found an engine down there for cheap and Doug and Nick(southFLstrokin)went and picked it up for me to avoid shipping the one i have down there. Plans are that it will be done by TS, long as my pocket allows it.

There is definetly going to be some out of the "norm" done to it. I dont want to give up too much info just yet so all i can say is stay tunned....

Enough with the chit chat, here are some pics:

The engine how i got it. Complete, minus injectors, plus a box of extra parts.

Cylinder 2, Nothing that wasnt expected, guy said it had been hydrolocked and he thought it had a bent rod.

These should take care of the Rod issue, Crowers that have all been weight matched with each other.

Ill update with pics as it goes along. The 7/16'' pushrods as well as the valve springs thats in the "doing it gangsta" thread will be in the motor, as well as some billet parts that Doug's making himself.

So happy you finally put this up here. I will pay very close attention to this thread and your progress as i may go the same exact route as you are, and even a very high possibility of going with the same builder as well.

It started out like every other 7.3 build out there. 550-600 but now it will be where it falls. Still 250/200 injectors though.

Heres the updated build list..... I dont think the crowers will be going in this one.

Build list looks like this

Aluminum Top Fuel Hemi Rods
Custom cut Pistons from Doug (aluminators)
Custom Piston Pins that will be stronger/lighter then stock
Possible a bedplate but for sure a girdle
Larger HPOP billet resevior
Doug's fuel system
Ported Heads
Turbonetics T4 mount
4294 (till it takes a dump)
300/200s from Tim @ PIS
Dougs 7/16'' diameter Push rods
175lb seat pressure gangster valve springs
Arp studs (possible the 6.0 ones)

The top fuel hemi rods made me take a second look.

Is there room for an aluminum rod in a 7.3?
