The 272 is the high strength, high temperature...the 262 is the permanent strength, and the 242 is medium strength and oil tolerant. I usually use the 272 on the manifold bolts. I added another tapped port to the top of the drivers side cap so I can tube the Diverter valve straight into it, and have no more hoses blowing off.
