I would before yanking it see if you can suck or blow fuel through it. You can take and pressurize the tank through the fill spout and see if fuel come out. But in all reality it should just gravity feed if you pull the lines off the front (the side facing the engine)of the selector valves. The only way I would pull it is if the fuel would not gravity feed through. If it does not pressurize your tank and see what happens.
