If you had a broken exhaust rocker, it sound like a shotgun going off thru intake. If intake rocker, it would be kinda more like yours sounds. Either way you'll see your issue as soon as valve cover is off. If you find a broken rocker, that doesn't necessarily mean a valve is bent or something terrible happened. Replace what you see broken/ bent and fire it back up with cover still off and watch everything. [/QUOTE]
