Hey guys, Found myself ending up on this site quite a bit doing google searches for random stuff on my truck so I figured I would sign up! Lots of guys with nice rigs on here. Bought a late 99 F-350 Lariat ZF6 this summer to tow my 28ft enclosed race trailer. Used to do it with a tundra but was way too dangerous for my taste and 5mpg gets old real fast. The truck is pretty clean for a Northern vehicle. about 205,000KM on it, ZF6. It's pretty much 100% stock right now. Had to put full hydraulics, LUK clutch and new clutch fork in about a month into owning it. Then I did the hutch mod because my in tank screens were clogged. Other than regular maintenance I've just been driving it. Plans are to remove the flares/steps, level the front, drop the rear and get some 20x12 or 22x12 wheels of some kind. And of course, 4" exhaust, WW2, and a hydra. Can't wait actually because it's so slow right now. My question to you guys: who here tows a few times a month with XL rated (not 10 ply) tires? Kinda scared of the 50-65psi max and reduced payload but maybe I'm worrying for nothing. My trailer weighs around 5,000lbs, race car 3000lbs, and there is probably 1000-1500lbs of gear/tires/fuel on a good day. So 10k in round numbers. That means 1000 to 1500lbs of tongue weight which is still way under payload capacity. Anyway nice to meet everyone and thanks in advance for any advice! -Matt And here is the race car for guys who are curious! 1993 Toyota Cresta. 1JZ, precision 6262S, EMU standalone, Spec twin disk, etc etc. Makes 500hp and it's a blast!
