Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Thanks, it was my fire dept's brush truck for as long as I can remember, bought it when we retired it. It's just a plane jane, 350 small block, SM465, NP205, D60 front D70 rear, 4.11 gears, 4" Tuff Country springs up front with ORD greasable and extended shackles, Zone Offroad sway bar links and shocks, stock rear suspension, some old 16" Ultra wheels I found on craigslist, and 315/75R16 Kumho KL71 Mud Terrains, 1.5" wheel spacers up front and 2.5" wheel spacers between the duals, 20% tint, a little thrown together audio inside. I think that's about it lol. The 350 is bone stock, but with only 80k original miles and it doesn't smoke a bit, I can't bear to get rid of it just yet. It's not quick, but with the gearing it will pull a house, it holds 70mph just fine on the freeway pulling a trailer and gets about 10-11mpg hauling cars, so I can't complain. I have too many projects going on right now to do anything about it, (mainly a house), but it will be getting something a little more powerful in a few years. It's crossed my mind to build the small block, a big block, or even a cummins swap (I have a 96 2500 12v with NV4500 sitting on the farm for a donor), but I've pretty much settled on a mild cam in a LQ4 6.0. To me there's nothing like a cammed LS screaming in a big truck like this, and it would still be very streetable, just fine with the RPMs of not having OD. The cummins would work, but even with the NV4500, highway speeds would be pushing it, not to mention the almost $1k adapter to mate to the NP205, and all of the sound deadening I would have to do to make it tolerable, my wife drives this truck, she couldn't deal with that noise. Just a few more pics of it When I first got it Right after the lift The birthday present my wife got me (and the truck), the truck officially turned 35 this year, and therefore is classified as a Classic Vehicle and I can run year of manufacture plates. She found me original 1978 NC Farm Truck plates, it's just a shame 1978 used green numbers, 77 and 79 were both red. :o :datass: Thanks! They'd look a lot better if it wasn't too cold to wash it :lame:
