Hey welcome aboard. The 7.3 is an awesome engine and will serve you well for along time, IF you get it straight and squared away first by going thru it's weak spots, ie. all orings, all other soft rubber items, regulated fuel return, "Hutch mod", billet wheel, 360 bearing and aftermarket waste gate actuator, at the ,east in the turbo dept. the stock up pipes use a donut gasket design that , leaks effecting the turbos effeiciency affecting power and raising exhaust gas temperatures both being no Bueno. You can put fresh donuts in for under $20 in parts or buy bellowed up pipes that eliminate that donut and you don't have to worry about them in the future. You can buy the expensive Internationals, you can buy a Chinese Dorman or you can buy Canadian built stain, ess steele ones from BD performance diesel( or diesel performance) for about $350. The CPSs out there, most anyway don't work well, raising the perdel numbers( percent of deceleration) subsequently causing the truck to fail the cylinder contribution test. Napa's Echlin model performs beautifully and takes care of that, however it is susceptible to electronic interferrance causing it in some trucks to kill the engine at idle when the wipers are turned on, most commonly while in the intermitant mode. This can be rectified with using clamp on ferrite beads. In the 7.3 forum, you will find a cps thread there. In there I go into more detail regarding this. Lots to learn, many people here eager to help you. BTW I'm in Glen Arm, not far from you. There are others from MD as well.
