I know of a guy (probably a different one) who is on here named Adrian aka: Madpowerstroke and he will attest to larger piping actually causing a performance decrease rather than an increase when he went from a stock intercooler to a banks intercooler as that has 3.5in piping with 3.5 ports on the caps of the intercooler.
