Well the rear end finally went out on the '99. Looking at two new trucks, a Lariat and a Platinum with a $5200 difference between the two. Trying to decide as I'm in a rental truck. Is the rapid heat package worth it? The Platinum also has the gooseneck/5thwheel, snowplow, mooonroof, rear seat heater and dual alternators.

The Platinum won't be in till end of the month and I'm paying $100/day on the rental truck. Haven't had time to get a price on rebuilding the rear end in the '99.

The Lariat is Black/Black, $56,282. Platinum is Black/Pecan, $61446. Plus t&t.

If the lariat is what you want and you don't need/want all the fancy options the platinum has I'd say get the lariat. Screw paying 100 bucks a day for a rental

I had the rapid heat in my 2010 and I liked it. Made waiting for the engine to heat up more bearable.

I would say it depends on which one you like better. I personally would probably go platinum. Like said above screw the $100 a day to drive a rental.

Yea, I hate pissing away $100/day but I really want the Platinum. And if I get the Lariat I have to install a GN hitch so I can pull the trailer.

Fly to Texas and save yourself $5k on a truck.l. 15' platinum are 54-55k in North Texas. They just dropped the price another 850 or so from a month ago.

See if the dealer that has the Platinum on order can work you a better deal on a loaner truck until the one you really want shows up. They may have one sitting in the used car lot that would work for you for a month.

She already said she doesn't have anything for me to rent.
Was going to go look at a Dodge 4500.

Me too. Buddy has a '13 Platinum, and it's a gorgeous truck don't get me wrong, but I don't really see all that much difference between my Ultimate and his Platinum.

Same. My stepfather got an awesome deal on a used platinum but I got the truck with the options I wanted. All preference. I do like the wood grain on his steering wheel.

Well, I picked her up tonight. Black/pecan has about everything but the moonroof. Paranoid as hell for the first scratch/dent.

I'll post a pic when/if it ever stops raining. She's quite and smooth for sure. Now need to get the rear end replaced on the '99. Should be picking up the new GN this week hopefully.
