OP Recommend you try your best to ride in a pickup with the exact combo your looking to run.....nothing like putting several $$$ towards a combo and having buyers remorse because you took someones word for it that it was what you were after. For perspective....here's a post that might be worth your time to read. Backpressure is the top guage...boost is right under that guage. http://www.forddieselpower.com/forums/showpost.php?p=141149&postcount=1 ---- Should serve as a good pre-purchase resource for folks to use. I think the best way to ensure the truck run like you want it to (after you spend your money and build it) would be to ride in the exact/similar setup, and have a good discussion with the tuner(s) for your truck. Probably the toughest part (at least for me it was) will be for you to be honest with what your intended use of the truck will be. Unlimited 400cc/200% Stecher Billet Stage 2 Swamps HFHV IDM TN Stage 2 S467.7 1.10 Turbine Housing Mishimoto IC SB DD Clutch Both vids are in tune 4 of 6, Gearhead tuning. Drive, boost, EGT, fuel pressure, top to bottom. Vid 1 is a 3, 4, 5 gear run. I did my best to make it a smoke free run (with Matt's tunes that's pretty easy) so that puts the accel pedal about 80-90%. It spools a bit quicker in hotter/smokier tunes, but I wanted to post a vid (like I'm hoping others will to) that would represent what tune most of us would drive our truck around in for daily use/towing. Vid 2 is OD (6th gear) run from 65 mph on flat ground. I kick off the cruise, hit record. EGT started at 600-625 at the beginning, and I put the pedal to 90%. I'll try to get a towing video posted soon. In summary, for the S467 FMW with the 1.10 housing, enough HPOP, and 200% nozzles, and a ZF6...it looks like this turbo "lights" or becomes responsive around 800-900 EGT, and 1800-1900 rpm. At 65 mph with my tires, engine rpm is right at 1800 in 6th/OD, so for towing it works great (even using cruise), 'cause as soon as there's a grade, boost is right there. Higher altitudes, or really heavy towing at slower speeds, I could see using a smaller turbo. Enough blabber from me. Post up your setup, and post a video or two. Compound dudes..make us envious. Look forward to watching this thread.
