The newer rod (shown on left) started then but according to what Ford Engineers have told me, they didn't start going in every single 6.7 for 2017-2019 engines until about Jan 2017 because they were still installing all the older rods in engines to use up leftover inventory. Pretty much all late manf Job 1 2017 to current 6.7 trucks are guaranteed to have the updated rods. 99% of 2016 6.7 older body style trucks still have the old rod design. The few 2016 trucks that got the updated ones are slim pickings. Most 2017s that got the older rod design were F450 duallys because they were produced first for the Job 1 lines.
