The 1/8" NPT x 1/4" JIC fitting on the oil filter cap loosened when I held it with a wrench to loosen the hose fitting during an oil change. I tightened it again being careful not to over tighten it. I do see some oil residue around this fitting but have had an issue with my AIC connection directly in front of it and think that is actually where the oil is coming from. There may be a better sealant on the market other than the casket sealer I used on the threads. I think if I could do this again, longer threads on the 1/8" NPT x 1/4" JIC fitting would allow one to put a skinny nut with lock-tight on either side of the oil filter cap to clamp/hold the fitting to the cap. Or, ideally, a thicker cap that would allow more threads to tap. But no leaks from the system. I put a couple of plastic bags around the filter to catch the drippings when changing it.
