#2 Cylinder Contribution/Balance...

Still idles smooth, no loss of power, no excess smoke, no fuel in the oil (that I can tell)... Saw it after cab went up friday for a check up. Should I be worried yet? LOL I clear the code on my DD but it returns in a few miles, without driving different... Cruise control at 75 mph, done 4 times in 20 miles....

Also, My Limited Slip is D U N .... Fluid smelled like a septic tank when we drained it... I never put the friction modifier in with the sythetic fluid... Ooooops.... Have ford replace it, or go True Track?

In your 450 or 250? If it was in your 450 I wouldnt drive it much since you have stock pistons in it still right?

Corb I had this happen to me before as well and just something easy to check is the electric harness connectors under the degas bottle. Take the connectors apart and blow in connectors with air compressor and then put back together. I had some coolant in mine one time throwning that same code.

Pimp, prob all it is. There is no sign of a misfire, except for the code... And this did happen after a cab off...

Thanks man.

Well, this is a total custom setup... David wanted to see everything, and so did I... Plus, a new exhaust, swapping the rear diff covers, putting your Intercooler on, rearranging turbo intermediate pipe (it was rubbing on the degas bottle), find an exhaust leak, replace the dual fuel belt.......

So, not JUST a checkup, but it was easier to say "checkup" than all that other chit...

And now.... a trio of codes... LOL

P008C FUEL COOLER PUMP CONTROL CIRCUIT/OPEN
P0266 CYLINDER 2 CONTRIBUTION/BALANCE
P0302 CYLINDER 2 MISFIRE DETECTED

And, she started a nasty vibration, and rattled at idle, pretty loudly. I cleared the codes on the DD, and she smoother right out again. It is already getting dark, and everything is hot, so I am not going to try to get into the harnesses tonight, but tomorrow at work, around noon, I will be able to.

For now... I returned to stock, and am re loading the tune. I do not think that it is a cracked piston, as she runs smooth as silk once I clear the tune. I am leaning towards either the harness like big rig stated, or a tune thing. We shall see shortly if the return to stock nips it...

Well, she will trip the code at idle, but not when I let her eat a bit... Did a few 1/2 half mile, half throttle passes around my area, and nothing but the fuel cooler code... Sitting at idle, letting the snails cool off, tripped cyl 2 contribution balance... cleared it... and it comes right back..... The Misfire Detected code did not resurface...

Any ideas, other than cleaning out the plug tomorrow?
