As far as strain on the pump on the vacuum side the ones I have listed a number of times are less than 1 psi at there max recommend flow rates. The thing to do is put a pressure sensor there and when vacuum hits a certian level change it. I suggest getting the highest flow rate you can find for the given micron rating you want to go with as the less % your flow rate is compared to its max rating the lower the pressure dif will be on it.
