Honestly based on the max restriction of a new filter neither should have caused an issue as far as overworking the pump. That is not to say that it did not though. The fact is the water/fuel ( the one that should be the pre filter) should have a higher flow rate thus lower BP. I would give Dennis a call during the day time and go over everything with him. He is a great guy to deal with and has seen it all when it comes to his systems being installed. LOL I have done business a number of times with him and always been 100% satisfied.
