Ok so in my early 99 I have the dpc-401 ECM
I want to find the dpc-421 but its in an automatic transmission excursion
Would it work in my truck? Or could I have the ECM out of an auto flashed to work in my standard?

"Work" as in start the truck...

Yes.

Glow plugs will not work, the SES light will be on constantly...

What are you trying to do by swapping PCM's?

I have no idea why he cant or choses not to tune an E-99 PCM.

All you need is a 2000-2001 Manual PCM.

Forget all the 401-421 crap.

Your looking for a PCM out of a 2000-2001 truck.

The "best" pcm for the manual trucks is a DAC3. Any late 99 or 00 trucks are the dpc 421s.

01 trucks got a dpc 461. This is all for manual trucks.

However, all that said I dont know why he wont just tune your PCM. It shouldnt be an issue. IMO.

Auto pcms can be flashed or changed with a chip wrote for a manual truck. It is the simplest to just get a manual pcm.
