Many times in and out and never broke one. LED strip is about 1/8" thick at most so very low profile. Love the way they light up the ground and running boards. I have amp steps now and I didn't even install the amp lights as I like the way these look. If you turn on your interior light and you are over 8 mph the running board lights turn off automatically.
