My damn 4x4 ESOF is killing me.... I've got fuel throttles with caps that I have to remove to lock the hubs into 4x4 and it's annoying... Basically since I bought the truck the ESOF picks and chooses when it wants to work.
I recently put new hub assembly's in the front end because the old ones were shot, and shot so bad they let the rotors wobble into the pads and I basically ended up replacing everything (i was on a 500 mile trip and almost home when it started sounding funny, thought i could make it- and it cost me about a grand) When I did it I got with diesel o-rings and installed all new o-rings and thrust washers, cleaned and serviced the hubs etc....
I still have the same problem 75% of the time the ESOF switch does nothing at all, yet occasionally it locks up without incident... What the hell is wrong? I'm getting sick of taking my hubcaps off and they look cool so I like to keep em on.... If I got the switch I want it to work...I know know all the seals in the hub are good what's next
Also note my tranny is on the fritz and bts is actually building my new one and tc today.... I don't know if this could affect anything ESOF related, I'm learning as I go with this truck....
Another note is that when I installed my icon lift and removed the driveshafts I missed the part about marking them to line them up in their balanced location.... Then a few weeks later when I went under the truck to see if I broke my tranny temp sensor on a stick that hit just right offroading I noticed the front driveshaft was disconnected from the tc just laying on the crossmember below it, bought new screws and torqued to specs (I did the first time as well).
Wondering if they just rattled out somehow or maybe it's an underlying symptom etc...
Don't hate on me I'm new to this lol
