So heading to work today I began to open my sunroof. Heard a strange pop, although it did open all the way. I closed it, tilted it up, not it won't move. The motor sounds like it working, and operating normally. I can feel the track or whatever moving. Has anyone had issues like this? If so why input, fixes, or instructions. This has to be something I tackle on my own. I could only imagine what a Ford dealer would charge to replace it.

Ordering new parts from thesunroofdoctor.com. ... much cheaper than factory Ford parts. Now to tackle the job. Looks like 4 star bolts to remove the glass. Then to take down the headliner..... poo

I haven't seen much documentation in regards to sunroof/ headliner removal. Would appreciate any insight you could give.

I own a 2010 HD too (mostly stock though) and it also has a sunroof. Works great at the moment. But I am always afraid of that uh oh moment.

Mine broke because one cold night (around 0F in the winter) I was trying to turn on the map light, and right as I was about to hit the light, I hit a bump and hit the sun roof open button, it started to open and I heard a few pops and felt something drop down the back of my shirt, it was plastic pieces that went down my shirt

Yep I had the pops as well. The kit is way cheaper then the entire for kit so that is nice. Ill at least replace what is broken. The glass doesnt look at to remove, i think the biggest thing will be dropping the headliner and from what ive read it needs to be taken out of one of the back doors. But who knows, once the glass is out, maybe i can get to whatever is broken from the top of the truck... Hard to say. Ill keep you guys posted

FYI, the headliner in a crew cab is a MOFO to get out without taking either the front or back glass out. It is doable. but it is not fun. Getting it back in is a little harder than taking it out. I would suggest removing all your seats and consoles before you go at the headliner... It is easier to take seats out with the headliner up rather than half down lol ask me how I know!
