The competitive 2.6 trucks are pushing 1300hp right now. I just wanted to put this into perspective. I totally believe in common rail technology and these 7.3 conversions - I think its very viable from a competitive standpoint - BUT we have to remember - we have to catch up from being behind and then still push forward to keep up with the ever changing competitive landscape. I want everyone to take a look at this graph: You see that black line labeled "last year"? That is the injectors out of a 2.6 common rail 5.9 that was well over 1200 ponies at the flywheel. The two steeper lines are the latest and greatest in common rail tech with the steepest line being just the beginning of whats capable with the latest generation of injector bodies. Now its also being reported that changes in 2.6 turbo tech over the winter is picking up 150+hp on the engine dyno on these engines with no other changes. My intent isn't to be debby downer - but just a reminder that for all the power that is being found through technology applies to everyone - the power gap has to close up to be competitive and we need to shoot for current power levels not last years, or two years, or five years ago.
