About 2 weeks ago I beleive I shelled out a torque converter. At first it started slipping when locked, but the trans shifted fine. Within 10 miles it began to get worse and worse until it was completly out. I had no forward or reverse and it made a small chattering noise coming from that area. Well I dropped the trans, put a torque converter in and then replaced the filter and fluid. Well After we put it back together I drove it out of the shop and let it sit in neutral at an idle. When I went to drive away I again I had no forward gears again. I had reverse on and off but then lost it completly. Well after pulling the codes I found a Solenoid B code. Well I talked to a few Trans shops and they said that maybe I had gotten some debris in my solenoids and that they are stuck so I took it in for a flush. They flushed the whole trans including the coolers, they pulled each solenoid and cleaned them and tested each to make sure they were working. Well they put it all back together, filled it up with fluid and informed me that there was 0 line pressure. So I was assuming the pump failed. Well I went and picked it up, pulled it home and begin to mess with it it a little. I pulled codes U2510 P0761 and P2702. I then all of a sudden had reverse. So now I have full reverse but still no forward gears at all. I backed it around the yard for probably almost 20 minutes thinking maybe something would open up or break lose but still I only have reverse, and periodically when I go to put it in reverse There is nothing and I have to shut the truck off and restart it and its good to go again. It has me stumped and I cant figure it out. Im broke right now and Im tired of sticking money into it. Does anyone have any Clue as to wtf is going on with this 5R? Im at a total loss. Could the pump be out but just be putting off enough to lock up the converter in reverse? Does anyone have any idea? My truck been down for almost 3 weeks and it looks like it will be down another 2 yet before i can afford to pick up another trans.
