I have a 96f250 ccsb. This past weekend we installed stage 1 injectors, t500, and some swamps tunes. So my complete list of mods are as follows:

3" DP
4" Exhaust (no muffler)
Swamps IDM
S&B Intake
ATS Intercooler
Stage 1's
T500
Swamps tunes
Stock turbo
Stock trans

So with these mods on some of the hotter tunes it just seems to really be blowin through the converter before it locks up. I want to do a john woods built trans but really cant swing the 5k yet. So my question is would it be a good investmant to maybe get a 6.0 converter and a aftermarket valve body and get by with the trans for a year ? Any help is greatly appreciated !

I pretty much did the same thing when I had my 96. And the tranny held pretty good with the converter and tugger kit. If you leave it stock, my opionion is it may leave you stranded.. So I'd fork out a bit of cash to keep it together till you can get a John wood or bts

6.0 converter seems to be a good one, I know OBSwiz can get them ready to install into a e4od.
