Will be driving down the road, and truck will just die. It always starts right back up like nothing happened. Engine is the only thing that cuts out, radio and everything else still works. No SES lights or anything else when it dies...
Any ideas would be great

have you always had this chip?
Is the chip in your sig correct?

Mine would do the same exact thing in my old tunes, in either tow or heavy tow. changed tunes and haven't had a problem yet.

x2 on the CPS, but the last time I had one go out on me, it would not restart immediately.

Do chips wear out? <-- Probably a dumb question

No but they fry. DP's are very sensitive to being pulled with key in the ignition, so be very careful because when they fry they can and will take out the PCM and IDM. Always have keys out of ignition and either in console or pocket before touching the chip.

Have you scanned for codes?

What brand of CPS did you use as a replacement?

Have you checked all the harness connections on the motor? IPR, ICP, VC?

All chips are very sensitive to being pulled with the key in the ignition. Come on Frank, you know that.

Other than that :whs:

CPS usually gives a SES light when it fails, but not always. Parts house CPS are notorious for being bad out of the box. Also check the CPS connection.

I do not think the IDM gets damaged pulling a chip with the key in. I also suspect that any chip has the potential to fry the PCM if it is pulled with the key in. I think there are two contacts on the PCM board adjacent to each other that short together.

Scanned for codes, none.

I put an International CPS in

I have not checked IPR or ICP, VC connections seemed good...
