So my friend is having issues with his right turn signal bulb working on and off. Tonight we replaced the bulb and found the old bulb had rust on a couple of the contacts. We cleaned the socket out with contact cleaner and put some dielectric grease on the new bulb and worked when we tried it. He took off and it quit working a couple blocks away. When it doesn't work the arrow on the dash won't light up either. We are lost on what it could be? We are thinking maybe a bad socket. Any help is appreciated.

I would replace the connector(pigtail) first. It sounds like it has lost contact somewhere within.

Well I spoke too soon. It worked after we put it in for a few hours, found out again this morning that it does not work. We used good connectors and heat shrinked them. I know this may be way out there, but he got a new radio, and it worked fine before that, is there any way that could affect it. I know how leds and burned out bulbs can affect things oddly, could that maybe be the case?

I couldn't tell you since I haven't had to pull one apart yet. It may just ground through the mounting housing but I am not sure.

I know it doesn't ground there, had headlights out many times. The ground is part of the headlight harness. I will definately try to find it though, didn't even consider the ground.
