When I did this fix I just cut as close to the bottom of the eye as I could, and I ended up with a setup that was too short. I could get the heim joint connected to the swing arm, but it wasn't enough to disengage the clutch all the way or let the truck start. Took it all back apart and had to clock the swing arm one tooth forward, then everything was too long so I had to trim the master cylinder rod down slightly.
