Doing it yourself is great. That's why I am where I am. Your trans builder may know how to assemble the trans but he is obviously missing something else in the process. Just because he has three others doesn't mean jack. I've built a lot of them. You still can have things happen that you haven't seen or that are a new failure that you can't explain. I'm not on your case to get a new guy. It doesn't matter to me. But I would not be throwing new clutch packs in for "$100" and thinking the problem is fixed. There is more to it.
