What is this part for

Ordered the factory ford fuel filter kit and received a bag in the box that I do not know what it is and where it goes. It says clip on it and a has a part number of HC3Z-9A317-A. This the 2nd time I changed my fuel filters and don't remember this being in the kit the first time. Any ideas what it's for? The truck is a 2019 450

Goes on the return hose fitting on the secondary filter. Which is the front most line on the filter. If you get too rough with that line they’ve been know to snap off requiring replacement. The clip helps protect it.
