I am replacing my plastic piping today with an H&S intercooler upgrade (I assume your talking about the charging tube running from the intercooler to the air intake). The reason I replacing is because my rubber boot (front right of radiator fan with t bolt clamp) has come off at the bottom. The bottom side of it is a crimped ring. The reason it came off was because the CCV was running oil back into the charged air tube. The CCV is crank case vent. It is that black box at the back of the engine on the drivers side. You can see it in this picture with the white bar codes on top. It vents the crank case and runs the hose back into the air intake. Plus I was pushing more air due to my tube. This is what has happened to mine after 158k miles. You are looking at the internal side of the EGR valve.
